Insights on the Pyrolysis and Waste Incineration Behaviors of Municipal Solid Waste

Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was used to study the thermodynamic behaviors of pyrolysis and incineration of six typical components of MSW, and to explore the interaction between PVC which is the dioxin precursor and other components of MSW. The effects of different components on promoting or inhibiting the decomposition of PVC were quantitatively analyzed by combining the calculation of superposition rate of calculated curve and experimental curve and the fitting of kinetic parameters. The results show that adding paper, wood chips, cardboard and PE can reduce the formation of dioxin in PVC incineration process, and PE has the best inhibition effect on the formation of dioxin.

Numerical Simulation on Oil -Water Separation in  Spiral Pipe After Different Flow Velocity

Crude oil from Oilfield mined containing certain amount of water, so it need to be done oil - water separation that its moisture content reach requirements and will be on the market. Due to other methods having some shortcomings, physical separation is widely used. Spiral pipe separator has the character of simpler structure and lighter weight, becoming one of the most common centrifugal separation methods. Adapting computational fluid dynamics of VOF model, using the simulation software, oil - water separation of different inlet velocity in spiral pipe was simulated, and the oil - water separation rule was obtained. The farther from the axis, the speed is smaller and the lesser velocity the evener distribution. The most regional of water and phase distribution appeared in each lap nearly entry outside. Oil - water separation is in a cyclical along with the axial. It supplies spiral pipe separation and improvement provides with a theoretical.
 
Numerical Simulation on Internal Flow Field of Spiral Pipe

Spiral pipe has been widely used in oil-water separation field with the simple structure and other advantages. As an alternative method the numerical research methods have been applied in spiral pipe research. Using the model of VOF, a numerical simulation was done on oil-water two phase flow for spiral pipe and got its spiral flow characteristics. It supplyes the technology of spiral pipe provides with certain basis theoretica:oil-water separation degree is up to 95% in the ninth laps and it is larger near the entry, water phase distribution is little along with the direction of gravity and oil-water heavy mixing phenomenon emergences. Near the entrance turbulent kinetic energy intensity and dynamic pressure changes fluctuating, dynamic pressure decreases linear along the axial except for the entrance. Shear stress is the largest in the entry and change less on axial. It can provide a theoretical support to the development and the improvement of spiral pipe technology.
